Dr. Matthew G. Garoufalis graduated
from Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio in 1978 with degrees in Biology
and Economics and graduated from the Dr. Wm. M. Scholl College of
Podiatric Medicine in 1982.
After completing a surgical residency at the Westside VA Medical Center
in Chicago, Dr. Garoufalis began private practice in Chicago. He now
has offices in Chicago and Hinsdale, Illinois and is the Assistant
Residency Director at the VA Chicago Health Care System - Westside
Division. He is also on the medical staff of St. Anthony Hospital,
Mercy Hospital and Hinsdale Hospital.
Dr. Garoufalis is past president of the Illinois Podiatric Medical
Association; serving in all of it's elected positions. Dr. Garoufalis
was elected to the American Podiatric Medical Association Board of
Trustees in 2003 and has served on several APMA committees. He is
committed to expanding public awareness about the importance of podiatric
medicine and in allowing students to realize the dynamic positive
impact they have in shaping the future growth on the profession, as
well as their own personal achievement.
Dr. Garoufalis is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric
Surgery and American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric
Medicine, and a Fellow of the American Society for Laser Medicine
and Surgery. He is also a Certified Wound Specialist by the Academy
of Wound Management. He has authored many articles and has lectured
extensively across the country, on a variety of topics pertinent to
podiatric medicine and surgery and practice management. |

Dr. Malcolm D. Herzog graduated
from Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio in 1977 with a Bachelor
of Science degree and graduated from the Illinois College of Podiatric
Medicine in 1981 with a degree in Physiological Sciences as well
a doctorate in Podiatric Medicine.
After completing his surgical training at the renowned Surgical
and Orthopedics Podiatrists, Ltd. in Chicago, Dr. Herzog began private
practice in Chicago. He now has offices in Chicago and Hinsdale,
Illinois and is an Attending Physician at St. Anthony Hospital and
Mercy Hospital in Chicago.
Dr. Herzog is past president of the Illinois Podiatric Medical Association,
Zone 2. He is committed to expanding public awareness about the
importance of podiatric medicine and in allowing his patients to
benefit form advances offered by his profession. Dr. Herzog is Board
Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and a Fellow
of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. He has authored
many articles and has lectured extensively, on a variety of topics
pertinent to podiatric medicine and surgery. |

Dr.
Jesse Plasencia graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington,
Indiana in 1983 with degrees in Biology and Chemistry and graduated
from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, College
of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in 1989. After completing a medical
and surgical residency at the Westside VA Medical Center in Chicago,
he then began private practice with Professional Foot Care Specialists,
P.C., working in both the Chicago and Hinsdale offices. He is on the
medical staff at St. Anthony and Mercy Hospitals.
Dr. Plasencia is currently on the Illinois Podiatric Medical Association
Board of Directors and is President of the Zone 2 Chapter. He is involved
in the residency-teaching program from the Westside VA Medical Center
and lectures frequently for Novartis and Pfizer pharmaceutical corporations.
He is actively involved in a FDA Clinical Trial on Nail Fungus and
has performed teleconference and web conference seminars for doctors
all over the country.
Dr. Plasencia is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric
Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine and is a Fellow for the
American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedists and Medicine. He is
certified in Laser and Arthroscopy Surgery. His friendly and interactive
approach to treatments allows patients to feel at ease while utilizing
all the advanced methods available. He has authored many articles
and lectured extensively across the country on a variety of topics
pertinent to Podiatric Medicine and foot health.
